Social Worker for Children and Youth at Enskede-Årsta-Vantör District Administration
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Do you want to make a difference for children and youth?
Are you engaged in social work and want to contribute to ensuring that children and youth receive the right support at the right time? We are currently seeking a dedicated social worker for one of our reception units for children and youth in the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör District Administration.
Welcome to us
The two reception units in the area work with the target group of children and youth aged 0-20 years. With us, you will be part of a committed team that constantly strives to develop and find new, smart ways to work. You will receive a secure start with a solid introduction alongside an experienced colleague by your side. We offer present leadership and support in your daily work.
The two reception units consist of six social workers each and an administrative assistant. The units collaborate closely with each other and are led by two unit managers and one area manager.
Your role
As a social worker in our reception, you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and preliminary assessments for children and youth aged 0–20 years. The work is carried out in close cooperation with colleagues, managers, and partners and is characterized by clear structures and collegial support.
You work with a holistic perspective where the best interests of the child are always in focus, and you use a systems-theoretical approach in your assessments. You contribute with qualified assessments and well-founded documentation for decisions according to SoL and LVU, provide consultative support, and create good collaboration with schools, healthcare, and other parts of social services. The assignment is both meaningful and complex and requires a combination of empathy and secure professionalism.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who:
- has a degree in social work
- has several years of experience in public authority work with children and youth
- has good knowledge of applicable legislation (SoL, LVU)
- expresses themselves well in spoken and written Swedish.
If you have experience with methods such as Signs of Safety or tools like iRisk, EARL, SAVRY, or ADAD, we consider it an advantage.
To thrive, we believe you:
- are an empathetic person who can converse and listen to people's needs
- have good communication skills and an interest in helping people
- are structured, self-driven, and take responsibility for your tasks while valuing collaboration and making decisions that may sometimes feel difficult.
We place great importance on personal suitability.
We offer
- A meaningful community assignment focusing on children and youth
- Safe introduction with a mentor and close management
- Competent colleagues who share responsibility and knowledge
- Balance between work and private life with flexible working hours (winter and summer time as well as the possibility of vacation exchange)
- Wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year and access to a gym in the building
We work for a good working environment, an open climate, and a learning culture; together we develop our work for the best interests of the child.
Other
For this position, it may be required that you provide a current extract from the police criminal record. The extract requested should apply to work with children in activities other than school and childcare.
We do not use personal letters in this recruitment. When you submit your application, you will instead answer a number of questions. The assessment is based on your CV and your answers. For selection questions, we would like you to attach your diploma.
